Make and paint a figure in clay

Service Description

This is a two part workshop. Part 1 - making. Part 2 - decorating. We will be making a character, such as a witch, wizard, princess, old lady or any character you choose. I will guide you through the process and demonstrate techniques along the way, rolling slabs for the clothes and using a former for support. Fabrics can be used for texture and sprigs for detail. We will be using a white earthenware clay which I will fire in the kiln ready for you to come back and decorate the following week, using underglaze colours. Your work will then be dipped in a transparent glaze and be fired for a second time, making the colours pop and shine! The dates – Saturday 26th September and Saturday 10th October 2026 Time 10am - 3pm with a break for lunch on 26th 10am to 12.30pm on 10th The cost per person is £70. This includes both sessions, all materials and 2 firings. Tea, coffee and biscuits also included.
